Image Simulation (IMS) Support for Hyper-Hemisphere Fields

The Image Simulation (IMS) feature, which helps optical designers visualize and communicate optical performance, now supports several additional mapping functions, including those that allow analysis of systems with hyper-hemispherical fields of view. This capability is particularly useful for assessing performance of automotive navigation cameras, surveillance cameras, and DSLRs.

New Built-in Optimization Constraints

In Automatic Design (AUT), three new constraint types enhance CODE V’s support for the optimization of manufacturable systems:

Aspect Ratio of Center Thickness to Diameter (ATC)
Aspect Ratio of Edge Thickness to Diameter (ATE)
General Tolerance Sensitivity (SN2)code v10.7_1

The new constraints are useful for global optimization (Global Synthesis®), where the form of the lens can change significantly. The General Tolerance Sensitivity constraint is an efficient method for reducing system sensitivity to tolerances.

Improved Charting

The following charting enhancements are now available:

Charts for user tolerancing (Monte Carlo and Finite Differences) and the fast wavefront differential tolerancing algorithm (TOR) have a new look that enhances users’ ability to visualize and present system performance results
A new Pegel diagram (showing aberration distribution) for third- and fifth-order aberrations
Quick access buttons for font and line width control to improve chart appearance for presentations and reports
